Mindi Abair's "Life Less Ordinary" will make your life less ordinary. Not, perhaps, in the sense that groundbreaking musical trails will be blazed with you pulled along in its trendsetting wake. Rather, in a more direct, important way. It will, quite simply, make you happy. Adair's marvelous smooth jazz works - mostly instrumental but some vocal - are total atmosphere-creators and mood-generators. Whatever around the house puttering your're doing or whatever seduction you're up to or whatever whatever it is, Adair provides a blissful soundtrack. Ultrapretty jazz tunes with light influences from elsewhere here and there flow across your ear's taste buds with the delicious smoothness of Johnny Walker scotch. I may sound effusive but it's Adair's fault. Her lovely music is rich and huggable and a solid example of what smooth jazz should sound like. A bit of happy, a bit of sultry, a bit of melancholy, heart all the way through. Sweet.-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
