MASSIV IN MENSCH - CLUBBER LANG (ARTOFFACT) |
| |

Massiv in Mensch, after a quick intro track, leads the listener into a groovy rendition of U2's "Sunday Bloody Sunday" presented in a style that is sort of minimalism mixed with thickness in a sound that is aggressive but also airy enough ... but not too spacey. Kinda stripped down and streamlined, flowing with verve and bringing both trance-based ideas and, of course, electro-industrial sensibilities to the table in a sound that will make you bob your head in the car or get your ass moving on the dance floor or even have you singing along in your living room - provided you know some German, cuz there's lots of it here. Massiv in Mensch is a pretty solid example of Teutonic Eurodustrial electronica. The textures are well-balanced, the beats are catchy and the music moves you despite an English listener's being out in the cold for much of the lyrical content. Electro-industrial fans should be happy with this one.-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
