This comp of breaks is a tribute to Ali B's club Air and what's cool is that these are previously unreleased albums from some very talented artists. Represented here are DJ Icey, Evil Nine, Freestylers and a bunch more, all unleashing their take on breaks. The music is pretty consistent in quality, which says a lot both for the artists but for the compiler's taste. A fairly even tone is maintained, but each track still succeeds in expressing its own personality and that of its creator. Catchy, hook-laden rhythms shoot across your psyche for the duration of this 18-track collection. These numbers are groovy and cool yet hot and moving. The beats kick up the energy but the melodies make for peace. A bit on the minimalist side yet with no empty holes in the sound, Ali B Presents Air is a nice gathering of numbers for the breaks fan and dance freaks in general. -- review by Kristofer Upjohn
