I realize that the Anjunabeats series has been drenched with rave reviews (ha ha) and I will be the first to tell you that there is some good music here. But I must confess some reservations and cannot rave as much as other reviewers have. Anjunabeats Vol. 4 is quite melodic and does a good job mixing energy and etherea. The music is very spacious and there are plenty of listeners who will become immersed in the lushness on tap here. But while there are a plethora of positive elements mingling on this disc, it is missing one thing: hook. This CD just never pulled me in. It's nicely mixed, pretty and has plenty of drive but it's not infectious and beat-based music like this has got to have more pull than I felt emanating from Vol. 4 of this series. I can't tell you that this is a bad disc; because it's not. But I can't tell you it's the flying colors success that many other reviewers feel that it is. In the end, this sounds like a negative review, but it's not, really. I'm not disputing that this is quality but I just wish it could have been a little more addictive. -- review by Kristofer Upjohn
