This two disc compilation was put together by David Rodigan and Sting International and it's safe to say that the pair has certainly laid out a good representation of the genre, boasting the kind of groove electronica is known for but rooted more in organic flavors. A slab of world music for those seeking a ganja groove, The Kings of Reggae is a heaping helping of the genre for those who dig it. It's not going to pull in any new listeners necessarily - this is reggae, no questions asked. But it's definitely a comprehensive offering for the fan or even the curious. If you don't like reggae, look elsewhere. But if you dig some hook-based world music with a dash of spirituality, then check it out.-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
