I have slightly mixed feelings about Eccodek's "Voices Have Eyes." Overall, this is a strong entry in the chillout/world realm of music. Eccodek mingles organic and electronic textures in its presentation of world-rooted chillout and downtempo. The music is quite melodious and the ethnic influences are reasonably diverse. It's a lovely album, really, and could be a satisfying listen for those meditative, laid back times. However, I also walked away from the disc feeling a little hollow. A tad more compositional depth wouldn't have hurt and - and this is probably personal preference and not artistic mistake - I would have considered this a more well-rounded release if it had been a tad more organic in flavor. But, of course, the electronic flavors are an important focus of this Eccodek release and, as chillout, it is indeed flavorful and bright. -- review by Kristofer Upjohn
