FLIGHT ORCHESTRA - THE MILITARY OF FATIMA (BREATHING ROOM)

Flight Orchestra is the big three E's - experimental, esoteric and eclectic. Each new track promises a fresh surprise for the listener. You might find yourself swirling through fringe pop etherea topped off with quirky vocals. Or you might enter a world in which your ears are sprinkled with the sounds of glitch. Lush, trippy chillout might wash across your sensory input. Shoegazery indie rock might just bowl you over. Tribal, proto-industrial from a distance fades into song. Melodic noise greets you. And again something else. And something else. Which isn't to say there isn't a strange manner of focus behind this. Indeed, the fact that it wallows in the three E's demonstrates a forceful artistic will that refuses to operate within the confines of traditional songwriting - though it doesn't abandon said tradition. It's just reworked, made to bleed outside the lines and become something not traditional.-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
