In my recent listening history, LR-60 and Mr. Moods' "Coldest Memories" easily finds its place near or at the top of the chillout stack. Downtempo hooks seep in like that first hit of good pot after a long dry spell, offering a soothing hypnotism to the listener. This talent-meeting of electronica producer and jazz instrumentalist makes for richly compelling music. Organic horn sounds find a brilliant artistic mating with the electronic textures. Atmosphere is king on "Coldest Memories." The classic past of great jazz playing time machines to tomorrow through this chillout context.
