Latin Party is Putumayo doing that thang it does. The label continues on with its trend toward more organic music. Tech heads might lament this but it's not a bad thing. Good world music is good world music and this be that. Good world music, that is. The title should tell you what to expect - groovin' south of the border shindig sounds. Viva la vivaciousness! This is of the upbeat variety, perky and pretty. The hooks hop, the brass blows, jazzy dancilicious tune time erupts from those speakers. Saturated with with sounds sure to send you deeper than Texas for your summer vacation (or deep into your living room for some stereo 'lectrifying, party-starting, world-themed fun), Latin Party hops and swings. The title isn't just some generic "Latin fill-in-the-blank-word-to-complete-title" name. Party is the perfect word to describe this. As is Latin. So there. You know the genre, and since it's Putumayo, you know the quality. So, like, dig in!-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
