JAMES TEEJ "EVENING HARVEST" (REKIDS) |
| |

James Teej comes from the underground to show why the underground is the sound to sound out to the world - when you're praising fineness in minimalist house music! "Evening Harvest" is a slick slab of spartan house delivered deep - that is, this is some deep techno house goodness. And there's plenty of variety, from soulishness to just straight house moves, baby. Every track has its sound - all courtesy of the personality of James Teej as conveyed through his masterful electronic manipulation as well as some tasty vox from the man himself thrown in for good measure. The sound has plenty of air but it doesn't feel full of holes, if you get my meaning. As much is there as needs to be but the minimalist elements totally come together to make a sound of fullness, wholeness, holy Batman, Batman! Reach up in the clouds and grab hold of this monorail of goodness moving past with its tight grooves, mighty mood and deep, heady sounds.-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
