Single-based EPs are not always the wisest expenditure of funds set aside for your music collection. The same song several times? Well, sometimes it works, especially if you dig the core personality of the tune involved and the remixes each tackle a different aspect of the song's mien. Such is the case with Kaya Project's EP featuring remixes of the soothing and lush "Ummah Oum". It's a delicious dose of psychill, with each mix bringing a different aspect of the song to the fore. Worldtronica manifests with beautiful melody and heroin hooks, not to mention the hypnotic vocals. The various stylistic approaches to reinventing "Ummah Oum" are a revelation for those unfamiliar with how many different ways a single song can exist and it's a treat for fans of remixes and addicts of the groovy chillout vibe.
