RJ Valeo masterfully explores a variety of chillout textures, all rich with melody but moving around in a roomy space. Ambient rules the day but forays into downtempo grooves and even some semi glitch texture-beats bob to the surface, adding to the overall mien of the work as a whole. "Atman" is a wonderful name for a release whose music is most certainly conducive to spiritual meditation. Light yet heady and substantial, RJ Valeo makes as much of the air in which the music moves as the music itself, though, of course, it's the music that this is all about. And, as you can see, I'm all about this. "Atman" is a brilliant piece of low key chillout music for the spiritual and intellectual.-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
