Yay, Nitzer Ebb! Probably not the sort of greeting Ebb is used to, given his habitation of the realm of electro-industrial. Not a chipper genre, typically, but that's okay. It's not really supposed to be. Not that there isn't much angrier and darker industrial music out there. That, too, is just fine. Fact is, Nitzer Ebb's music has darkly furrowed brow and wicked sneer - but there's a tongue in that there cheek, too. Cutting, sleek electro-industrial music takes new form from tune to tune whilst never once deviating from the arc and vibe of this album. Imagine a bit of goa trance sort of psychedelic dark smoothness (think Juno Reactor), add extra versatility in the form of more beat diversity - this ain't all four-on-the-floor - and toss in some snide vox and lyrics and you've got a helluva good album. It's right up there on par with Metropolis, which is arguably the most artistically and commercially successful electro-industrial label. Keep this up and Artists' Addiction will stand to be some serious competition in this genre (not that they only handle this genre, but still ... competition) ....-- review by Kristofer Upjohn
