This release has the standard CD, but the real discovery lies in the DVD,
nestled under the CD in a unique, rounded cornered package. Altered works by
Mathew Dear, Sleeparchive, Ricardo Villalobos, Akiko and The Detroit Grand
Pubah’s as well as Hawtin’s Plastikman and own productions extend 96
minutes in luscious 5.1 Surround Sound. As predicted by the title, one track
melds seamlessly into the next, and this is not your grandmother's Techno.
Stylistic minimalism - a perfectly designed modern architectural wonder that
curves loops around the space in your room, riffs between your ears with
just the right layering and movement to be interesting without overwhelming,
flowing forward with grace and never leaving the beat behind. Oh, and since
you've got this in your home theater system anyway, might as well check out
the two new videos, an 'About DE9' short film and live footage from Time
Warp, the major electronic music event in Germany.-- review by Jennifer Warner
