As seems to typically be the case with 2-disc trance
mixes, there are distinct personality differences
between the music on the first disc, and that on the
second. The first CD is reminiscent of the some of the
mix CDs of Armin Van Buuren. The tracks are more subtle
and progressive in nature. The music is lush and warm
and depends as much on texture as aggressive melody.
Not that these tracks aren't tuneful, but they don't
have the overt hook of "uplifting" or "epic" trance.
Instead the tunage is executed with a more ethereal
flavor. The second disc - the one I prefer - moves
more for that epic feel, with assertive melodies and a
quicker, less progressive build, functioning as the
"peak" of this musical "trip." Though this doesn't
rank among the best trance collections/mixes I've ever
heard, all the music on both discs is of premiere
quality. Whether you're jamming to the deliberate,
gradual hook of disc one or the quick grab of the
second CD, you're in for some solid trance work.-- review by Kristopher Upjohn
