Situated just a few short blocks east of Hollywood's most famous landmarks such as the Hollywood and Vine intersection, the Capitol Records building and Mann's Chinese Theatre, Los Angeles' hottest music destination VANGUARD (6021 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028) has made its own mark in Hollywood's burgeoning nightlife society since its launch in the Summer of 2005.

Vanguard serves up weekly club events and live-performance shows. The Crystal Method launched Vanguard's Friday weekly electronic/dance DJ nights on August 26; Velvet Crossing, which is the collaboration of Hollywood's top promoters, kicked off (July 9) their Saturday's at Vanguard, weekly drawing the area's most desirable young and fabulous club crowd; and DJ Marques Wyatt now hosts Deep, LA's longest running house music weekly on Sundays. Saturdays are a mecca for the hip hop crowd, while other promoters and crowds rotate throughout the week, using different areas of the club such as the furry walled stairways leading to the exclusive upstairs VIP lounge, or the full-kitchen restaurant cafe.

Creative Director Johnny Jos drew upon his 10-year + background in motion picture art direction and event production for the design concepts of the Vanguard space. The main room features scenic-treated stone walls and a curved bar lit by hi-tech LED fixtures. While cavernous in size, the hanging truss and lighting rig (designed by Steve Leiberman of SJ Lighting), decorative sconces and customized furniture add a level of comfortable intimacy. Of course, once the thunderous Funktion One sound system is turned on, there's no mistaking this 21,000 square foot venue for what it truly is: a colossal mega-club catering to both live performances and discotheque situations alike.
With a capacity that can hold over 1600 people, Vanguard features a lavish cherry-wood dance floor, a large indoor balcony terrace overlooking the main room (for perfect privacy), and a Asian-inspired outdoor patio as big as the entire club itself, complete with fountains, tented hideaways and a giant Buddha... all completely open to the stars with a spectacular view of the Hollywood sign.

Owned and operated by CEO Jordan Birnbaum, partner Pasqualle Rotella of Insomniac Events (Electric Daisy Carnival, Nocturnal Wonderland) and General Manger Misty Mansouri (Lingerie Night Club, National, Maple Drive, Sushi on Sunset and The Palm), Vanguard is open 7 nights a week, features several fully stocked bars and full kitchen. It is also available for private events and as a film/photo shoot location.
